Routine Cleaning

Sweep or vacuum with soft brush attachment to keep dust, dirt and grit away from the laminate floor.
A damp mop can be used weekly but do not flood the laminate floor or wet to excess. Dry with a soft, clean cloth after the damp mop.
Wipe away spills or moisture created from wet feet or shoes immediately. Do not allow excess water to stand on the surface of the laminate floor.
Soap based detergents, abrasive cleaners, chemicals or combined ‘clean and shine’ products can damage the wear layer and finish of the laminate floor. Avoid using them.
Never use steel wool or other scouring pads on your laminate floor. They can easily scratch the laminate surface.
Do not wax or polish your laminate flooring.
Do not steam clean the laminate flooring surface. This will cause permanent damage.

Dealing with Tough Stains

For stubborn substances like tar, asphalt, paint, or oil, use acetone or nail polish remover and than wipe with a clean damp cloth.

Regular Maintenance

Although, laminate flooring is highly abrasion and stain resistant, it is still affected by a number of elements. To retain the floor’s structure, durability and aesthetics, the following maintenance suggestions should be considered:

Place doormats at the exterior entrances to prevent moisture, dirt, grit and debris being tracked onto your laminate floor.
Colorfast and non-scratch carpeting and rugs are your best options on your laminate flooring surface. These will minimize staining and scratching.
Do not allow sharp or pointed objects such as cleats, high-heels, hiking boots or shoes with spikes on the laminate floor. Sharp objects can cause dents and scratches on the flooring surface.
To prevent indentation, insert protective felt pads under furniture legs and appliances.
Place a clean sheet of smooth plywood, rubber sheet or any other protective layer before you move furniture or appliances across the laminate floor. Do not drag the furniture without a covering on the floor as it may cause scratches and scuffs.
To prevent permanent indentation, rearrange furniture occasionally.
It is not necessary, and not advisable to treat or seal your laminate floor.
Do not sand, varnish, or refinish your laminate flooring.
